Exciting and Growing specialist contractor in the Central Belt with an excellent order book of work.  Looking to appoint a new Operations Manager to further strengthen their presence in the Sector as well as assist with organising the existing workload.



Job Details

Vital resources have been employed by a reputable and growing contractor within the rail sector, to assist them in their search for a new Operations Manager to further strengthen their client offering and support a growing workload.

As the Operations Manager your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the team of Senior Project and Project Managers in the safe and efficient delivery of projects
  • Identify all commercial aspects of projects in liaison with the commercial management team
  • Leading the production of tender documentation and the provision of adequate resources and arrangements for legal compliance in all areas
  • Maintaining a resources and capability programme including rostering, competence and fatigue management in order to deliver projects in a safe and efficient manner
  • Leading the management of all health, safety, quality, environment and security requirements through the liaison with company HSQE personnel
  • Managing the identified audit and self-assurance requirements as required by the Powerlines UK Group

The Succesful applicant for this role will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a similar capacity
  • Strong management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels within the business and the ability to think creatively
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple stakeholders across the business and industry
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Experience specifically within meeting or exceeding targets on operational delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional manner
  • Initiative and good decision-making skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills
  • Full driving licence and willing to travel as required for the role
