Job description

Our Client is one of the largest privately-owned civil engineering and infrastructure specialists with 40 years of experience working UK-wide across the water, transport, built environment and energy sectors. The group was originally set up as a specialist tunnelling contractor. Whilst they retain our tunnelling roots, repeated success in several sectors of the construction industry has enabled them to expand their skillset and become one of the largest privately-owned infrastructure specialists in the UK.



Job Details

Reporting to Site Agent, the Site Engineer will take ownership of the survey control for the project and set out detailed works as per the contract drawings ensuring that checks are made on a regular basis.

Offering technical advice on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives

• Managing the site and parts of construction projects

• Overseeing building work and ensuring the quality of the work

• Setting out, levelling and surveying the site

• Produce 2 week look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent

• Produce site diaries and allocation sheets

• Production of ITP check sheets in line with the ITP and specification

• Ensuring the plans, drawings and quantities are accurate for calculations

• Supervising site security, health and safety

• Organising and overseeing material and human resources

• Managing the design documents supplied by the client

• Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis

• Liaising with the local authority to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws

• Reporting progress and other updates back to client.
