Vital raise over £4850 for Great Ormond Street Hospital

Initiated by Kevin Morris, Business Development Manager (Wales and Western), Vital’s charity golf day was organised in aid of supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Kevin had previously worked with Becky & Gavin Manley at McGinley’s and they have both worked in the rail industry for almost 20 years. After hearing of their 7-year-old son, Billy, who was born with a one-in-a-million heart condition and was diagnosed with a rare condition which caused his heart to become enlarged and press against his lungs. We decided to help try and raise some funds for this much needed charity and as parents, they would like to support Great Ormond Street to raise awareness and thank them for all the support they have been given with Billy since he received his heart transplant.

The aim of the day was to invite clients and colleagues from within the industry to come and play a round of golf to help raise as much money as possible.

Overall, there were 18 teams playing a shotgun start on one of the hottest days of the year! Clients included Absolute Rail, Alun Griffiths Rail, AMCO, Balfour, Colas Rail, Gee Comms, McGinley, Network Rail, Kier, Taziker and Macron. A huge £4,850 was raised on the day for Great Ormond Street Hospital and we’d like to thank everyone who took part in playing golf, donated prizes and volunteered on the day.
