Job Details

Vital are seeking a practical and safety-conscious Mechanical Support Operative to assist in the decommissioning of a factory site. The role will primarily involve the moving, handling, and dismantling of mechanical equipment using appropriate manual techniques and hand tools. Full site induction and task-specific training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely move, lift, and handle mechanical equipment in line with site procedures.
• Assist in the dismantling and removal of machinery, fixtures, and fittings.
• Use hand tools (e.g., spanners, screwdrivers, hammers) to support mechanical disassembly tasks.
• Support the segregation and safe storage of equipment, tools, and materials.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards in all work areas.
• Follow instructions from the supervisor and work as part of a wider decommissioning team.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a practical, mechanical, or labouring role.
• Ability to use basic hand tools confidently and safely.
• Physically fit, with the ability to lift and move equipment as required.
• Good awareness of workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions

£16.50 per hour
