Job Details
Vital are seeking a practical and safety-conscious Mechanical Support Operative to assist in the decommissioning of a factory site. The role will primarily involve the moving, handling, and dismantling of mechanical equipment using appropriate manual techniques and hand tools. Full site induction and task-specific training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move, lift, and handle mechanical equipment in line with site procedures.
- Assist in the dismantling and removal of machinery, fixtures, and fittings.
- Use hand tools (e.g., spanners, screwdrivers, hammers) to support mechanical disassembly tasks.
- Support the segregation and safe storage of equipment, tools, and materials.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards in all work areas.
- Follow instructions from the supervisor and work as part of a wider decommissioning team.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a practical, mechanical, or labouring role.
- Ability to use basic hand tools confidently and safely.
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift and move equipment as required.
- Good awareness of workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
£16.50 per hour
